More than just the good parts, however, there are also some lapses. For instance, there’s nothing new to make the targeted Auto Filter or Layers work as they should. They still require you to do a lot of drilling down and fiddling with the layer mask. I think the targeted Auto Filter Auto Fix could be very useful. Use with care and you’ll have great results. I’m also disappointed that the borders are not more robust. This app seems to make graphic selections, such as the selection of borders, rather easily. But if you accidentally select a little bit of the background as well, it just seems to be ignored. And the Undo doesn’t work as well as I’d like it to. If I select an area, make an edit, select the area, then go back and select the area, it won’t clean up the old selection (which is what’s supposed to happen). Here’s an example of this behavior in a capture from the Canon EOS 600D. In the screen I selected a part of the watch on the right-hand side of the frame. I started to edit that area by simply clicking the area a little bit. Then, as it turns out, I accidently selected a part of the canvas as well. As a result, my selection was shifted by a pixel or two. I switched back to the original selection I made, then went back to the border area. The original position of the selection didn’t match the edit I just made. In my opinion, this should be possible. The Undo for this should be able to undo just the change done to the selected area, while leaving the selection at the original location. I’ll keep an eye on this and report back if it gets fixed.
